GOOD GIRLS

They don't charge for their loyalty
Serving their hearts like maids of royalty
Their arms replete of love and charity
Till when they are stabbed for their emotional sanity.

Your eyes are so vast that they stare too long
Too long loving what they are taught to hate
then cursing that feeling calling their lives misery fate
Crying their lungs out to what was never their fault.

Your gates are wide open
And your bodies are so inviting and heart so well to fit in
Letting them step in with glory
Watching your walls fall down without feeling sorry.

Your bright smile enlightened by the morning light
Washed down by your tears fading in the night
Your soul enveloped in the darkness and lost
Bad girls singing outside " All the good girls are home with a broken heart."

THE OCEAN BETWEEN US

In these rainy days that hide the sun behind the clouds,

I count the drops that fall to fill the oceans,

Shaking the urge to sail the seas that drown us apart,

To warm coldness that embeds in the veins of my heart.

In those eyes you stare in I want you to see the color of my iris

Remember the taste of my lips whenever you kiss

On all those bodies you hold feel my skin on them

Your imprints make me fall like leaves of autumn

You stole my heart and soared away like a thief

I sit here watching the rain melting down the strings of our names,

And the mountains blocking the sound of your voice

In every thread of cloth I search for your scent,

Waiting for the day when the oceans between us will dry up.

INEXISTENT

I see you in my dreams alive
In my thoughts where you only live
In the world of you and I that I created
Where I treasure my only chance to be truly loved.

I see your eyes dark and fuming
Gazing in mine till the sun is setting
Your thumb stroking round on my chin
Holding me through windy nights warming my skin.

You’ve never known the girl that dreams of you
Under the moon traveled away from Earth
Not sure if you’d ever come across her path
Making you real when you don’t even exist
Just to sense moments and feel loved for a moment.

In real life I’d shudder if I meet your pace
I am scared that you’d not love the spots on my face
Would you ever handle and secure my insecurities
I doubt you would even want to run your fingers in my hair
For the small assets I have, I can’t tell if you’d turn your head and glare.

You give me reasons to believe when you’re not existent
Hoping we’d find unity from our nature being different
And you’d love the way I am tiny fitting in your arms
In my muse you never leave for long
This is the only fairy tale in which I belong.

It all sounds like nonsense
From the first to the last line it doesn’t make sense
But I am so ready to meet your way without building a fence
I would make these dreams real if got a chance.

BLACK GIRL'S DREAM

You are so high up every mountain on earth
Full of swiftness and burning faith
You are a hawk flying in the sky beneath the clouds
On a hunt of freshly fleshed and boned preys

You are fond of tall buildings and lights
Hectic days and dancing nights
Loud music and enchanting words
And how pencils feel underneath you fingers

It was all seized when your father said you can get what you want
When all your long dreams became vital
And you devoted all your youth to it
You discerned where you will stand and belong

The flaw in you is that you don’t divide your heart
When you lose one dime that’s when you remember to look straight
When you love, you lose focus
But your best revenge is success

You sound so invincible when you speak
You are too busy scheming the colors of your mask
Drying your eyes every morning and straightening your lashes
Just because you stray from betraying yourself before the whole world

You tumble so fast that’s why you’re too broken to be mended
Those platinum are way too hard to reach
You muse to get your fingertips on them to feel more expensive
For they will light your skin and glow your eyes

You loved it
You chased it
And tonight you’ve got it
Money smells so fine, doesn’t it?

SHADOWS

GATES OF HEAVEN

Today it’s storming hard

Our friends, family and neighbors bowing as they stand

Out there in the rain with black dresses and black ties

And you’re laying there so peaceful waiting to be landed in the ground

Us hoping we will meet where we’re all destined.

Brother, I know you’re so long gone

Your plans, victories and dreams left undone

Nights in the streets with the squads having fun

We lived so young and free to see the sun.

Brother, I know this was a journey

It tasted like salty water and honey

Some days were cold and some stories were funny

Moments I leaned on your shoulder exposed me to the true life’s beauty.

Brother, I know this was your turn

And tomorrow might be me in return

I will live every day to remember and frown

I will feed on your memories to grow and live on

For you I send the angels to open the gates of heaven.
